Clifton has had its own neighborhood council since the 1970s, and its streets mix Victorian cottages, shotguns, and brick doubles with some of the city’s best-known institutions.

From buffalo trace to streetcar suburb.
Clifton grew along an old turnpike and a railroad. It was built slowly over about 60 years, which is why its blocks mix so many eras.
